Who owns the platform software?

Because of its micro service architecture, the ownership of the Platform of Trust code is decentralised. Platform of Trust Oy owns the code developed for the platform, but it will be published as open code as far as possible. In addition, we obtain licences for using existing components on the platform, which are mostly based on open code.

How do users connect to the system?

Through the self-service tools and interfaces available in the platform.

How is the user management of applications and data handled on Platform of Trust?

All real-world entities, applications and people have identities on the platform. Identities, in turn, have machine-readable relationships that are used for managing user groups and access rights. User management on the platform is primarily carried out using these identities. The use of identities is a part of the integral trust infrastructure on Platform of Trust.

What is the format of digital twin frame on Platform of Trust?

All items in the digital twin frames are presented according to the open harmonised data model that Platform of Trust applies. The model is based on commonly accepted international standards, such as the IFC model, where applicable. In technical terms, the digital twin frames are stored in a graph database.

Why would a company release its own systems and the data they contain?

Platform of Trust does not require systems to be released. Instead, companies can determine what data that they want to transmit or sell and to whom. There are various reasons for using the data. Organisations can use their and others’ data to make their current operations more efficient, generate new business, and make better decisions. Platform of Trust makes data and services available quickly and easily, thus boosting demand for service providers.

Do I connect to Platform of Trust directly or to the data sources with specs defined by Platform of Trust?

Platform of Trust does not collect any data; instead, it only saves the metadata that it needs for data transfer. Platform of Trust retrieves data from a producer, harmonises them and transfers them to a user.

Are digital twins managed on Platform of Trust?

Digital twin frames are managed on Platform of Trust using identities. App developers can freely use the frames to develop visualisations of the digital twins and user interfaces.

Is the visualisation of digital twins based only on the data relayed through Platform of Trust?

No, it isn’t. You can retrieve data for visualisation from any data source you like. Needless to say, the data retrieved using Platform of Trust are harmonised and therefore easy to manage.

How can users be sure their data are secure?

Platform of Trust applies international data security policies, and security is built into the components of the platform and data traffic. In addition, the platform offers security features such as user management, the creation of strong identities, and authentication. Platform of Trust’s role as a platform for linking data makes the security of data producers’ and application developers’ systems essential.

What are the implications of using Platform of Trust for diverse user groups?

You can use Platform of Trust in one of three roles:
A) As a data administrator, you can use the platform to determine the data you wish to process and the parties you want to include in the development process.
B) As a data and service provider, you can link your data sources to the platform and determine who can retrieve the data from there.
C) As an app developer, you can select the data sources and services that you want to use in your work.

Is Platform of Trust capable of handling situations with hundreds or even thousands of transactions a second?

Yes, it is. This capability is currently being built into the Platform of Trust software architecture.

How is the software architecture of Platform of Trust structured?

Platform of Trust was built according to the principles of a micro service architecture. It offers external interfaces, but also uses them internally in its own framework.

How does Platform of Trust scale to multiple users and large data amounts?

The use of Platform of Trust is based on interfaces and self-service tools that enable process automation. Platform of Trust was designed to serve the needs of global business from the very beginning.
